I had a mother figure all through high school. We were close, i told her everything, she was my rock when i was hurt. Then in my senior year I got depressed and she disowned me. In a cry for help i told her i was suicidal and she cut all ties with me and said she didnt want the pressure. It tooks months of crying and begging God and therapy for me to even think about her without falling apart. Now i'm better and going off to college. I hoped she would bring up what happened 6 months ago but she didnt. neither of us did. But she didnt even ask how i was doing now. I dont see how we can be friends. I feel like i need to be heard for once. would it be wrong of me to meet her again and let her know how i felt. I dont want anything from her, just closure. Something she ate is triggering the hypoglycemia and possibly an Anaphylaxis attack. Hypoglycemia causes hypoxia and therefore she became unconscious. and it is an Emergency condition. Hypoxia(a condition where adequate oxygen does not reach brain) can cause scars within the cerebellum and can become fatal. These are one of the many possibilities. Doctors need time and necessary test to arrive at diagnosis and until then they may not tell you what caused it. Just a layman's opinion.

Hi all. I'm a 28 year old Male. I'm in pretty decent health. Not the greatest. I'm 6 ft 2 around 205 LBBS. I'm actually pretty lean looking. I stopped smoking back in July of 2010 and my body has been going threw some crazy changes. Recently over the last few months. I have been very sluggish. Way more slugish than I was before I stopped smoking. I also crave sugar! It's weird. Like when I wake up, the first thing I want is something sugary. Sugary drink or a slice of cake? Last night I woke up at 5am out of no where. And My body was just urking for me to get some sweets. It was extremely difficult for me to resist the cravings. I know this sounds crazy. But usually after I eat I usually feel energized and more leveled. Is there a chance maybe I'm hypoglycemic?

How do I get in shape for Marine Recruit Training?

I'm 17, and just enlisted into the USMC under the delayed entry program. I can already perform the entry physical (1.5 miles in like, 13 minutes or something, 60 crunches, and 5 pull-ups), but I would like to be less.. well.. shell-shocked upon entry. Does anyone know any decent exercises that would help when I enter recruit training in about a year? By the way, I wasn't sure which topic to put this under.. Sports Or Military? Oh well.

Would a bloodhound make a better service dog than a lab?

First off, I'm a Type 1 Diabetic, a bloodhound owner and we usually go on long hikes in the Jersey Pinelands. I use an insulin pump and set a Temporary Basal Rate when I am excercising/hiking. This gives me a lower Basal dose for these periods. Before this, I ate more longer acting carbs at various times during my periods of activity. My blood drops from 90 to below 80 very quickly and I don't know how useful a service dog would be for me. I check my blood glucose levels regularly. That's just what you have to do when you're diabetic! Yeah it can be slightly inconvenient to check your blood glucose level in the field but that's what I do because I am diabetic! A service dog would be an aid to you but it shouldn't take the place of being responsible about your diabetes. Having the service dog isn't supposed to take the place of checking your blood glucose levels regularly! I keep my blood glucose meter in a pack around my leg or I wear cargo pants and keep them in my pocket. I can check my blood and have a result in under 30 seconds and that's with dealing with my 95 lb bloodhound on a lead! You want a service dog because it's a "pain in the neck" to take 30 seconds to check your blood - but that's exactly what you should be doing because you're a Type 1 diabetic with the additional problem of not being able to tell when you are about to go hypoglycemic. I would learn first to make it so it isn't a "pain in the neck" to check your blood in the field, carry your emergency glucagon pen (it's best to carry a couple of extra in case something happens to one), have a cel phone, tell other people your plans...etc. Do all of this stuff first so that you can go out into the wilds and take care of yourself before you start talking about getting a service dog.

My husband and I agreed to pay for 1/2 of my step son's rehearsal dinner (his mother responsible for the other 1/2). We are vegetarian and have made our feelings known that we are not happy paying for meat. His son and future wife have not provided any information or allowed us to be involved in any of the planning process - just being blown off. I was on BC pills for 10 years. I stopped them in July 2009 and since then have not had a period without the help of Provera. I am on synthroid for my thyroid and it is just now starting to get corrected. I attempted to take Metformin for my PCOS and had a reaction to it. It lowered my blood sugar and made me hypoglycemic. So basically I could use Clomid but that doesn't guarantee I would stay pregnant without the help of the Metformin. After all this I have accepted that it is too risky for me to get pregnant and I don't have the $$ to do Invitro or adoption. If I had a baby like everybody else my insurance would cover it 100%!! But I have told my husband that I plan living childless based on the circumstances because I am not comfort trying. He will go along with it for a while but then he will bring it up again and ask me to try the Metformin again. What should I do...I have told him I would divorce him so that he could have the opportunity to meet someone else and be a father like he deserves to be. How to commemorate a loss?

my husband is diabetic, but refuses treatment, doctor visits, or even regulation of diet. He weighs about 150, is 5' 7" and is very active- 22 years old. His levels every time we used the blood glucose tester are 200- 250. Is this normal? What should they be? I am hypoglycemic, 102 and 5' 7" 23 years old and my levels are 90 -120 when im feeling normal. Does anyone have any advice on how to convince my husband the severity of not treating his diabetes and how important it is to eat right? I've attempted to eat bits of things here and there, for protein/sustenance, but those things make my stomach feel like there are barbs running round in it. (Inside of baked potato, bit of oatmeal another time, bit of toast.) Soup is not an option as our water is gross from a flood, and I can't go out on my own to buy some bottled water right now. hypo means low. Glycemia means sugar. Low blood sugar can be from many things: not eating anything, an endocrine system disorder, liver problems, medications, just to mention a few. Diabetes is too much sugar in the blood. It may take a little while for your friend to wake up. The docs will probably want to figure out why she had this problem. They really can not till you anything unless she tells them to. She will probably be ok.

Last summer, I was severely anorexic. I got down to 95 lbs and I'm 5'6. When I started eating again, I ended up with panic disorder, which escalated into agoraphobia. I also have a general fear of food. I currently am having an Ensure for breakfast and lunch, then I eat dinner when I get home. I am afraid I will get sick to my stomach at work. But I also have to be afraid that my blood sugar will get too low if I don't eat enough because I am hypoglycemic, and could pass out. I am on medication, which is making me able to eat, but sometimes I just feel like I want to go off of it and be anorexic again. I am also convinced my meds are slowly going to kill me. Some days I struggle with anorexia, other days I am afraid of my food. Sometimes I fear the four minute drive to work thinking that something bad will happen at the stoplight I have to stop at. Sometimes I can't even walk in the door when I actually get to work for fear something bad will happen. My OCD makes me think food is tainted. If it's been in the fridge longer than two days, I refuse to touch it. My moods are sometimes good, sometimes hurrendously bad. I never really know. If I am not in a bad mood, I am generally anxious. I have been getting to suicidal lately. And I am afraid all of this will impact my job if I don't get it treated properly. I feel like I am at my ropes end. I have been admitted before several times. I just don't know what to do anymore. I feel like I am living in a mental prison that I cannot escape. I just don't think that I can handle the brunt of this outpatient without doing something stupid of winding up there anyways in the middle of summer when it all blows up in my face. If I had a gun right now I'd put it to my head. I also have PMDD so I could just be PMSing a bit. Advice please? What would you do in my situation? I already have a psychiatrist and a therapist.

Ok, here's the deal, I am a military spouse and my husband comes home in 1-2 weeks and I have been trying and trying to lose weight as a personal goal and as a "surprise honey, you have a hot wife" thing for my husband. Here's what I've been doing. I am currently eating less than 800 calories a day, started p90x and running for 30 minutes each day (for the past two weeks) and I am not seeing results. I also have been on the HCG drops and still no results. I have been avoiding calorie heavy foods, sodas and sugars almost enitrely. The only problem is, I'm hypoglycemic. For those who don't know, I am basically the opposite of a diabetic, I have LOW blood sugar and have had to train my body to eat small meals every two to three hours, so cutting down what I eat is already difficult. If I don't eat enough meat or protein during the day, I could get dizzy, nauseous, or actually physically ill. It's not a fun time. I was wondering if anyone had any alterations to make to my diet/workout plan or any other suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated!!

Media center delay for capture card?

i have a windows vista sp2 64-bit and i have a Hauppauge win tv 1800 capture card that came with it. I'm connect my xbox to it but when i use media center to play it i get a delay which is hard to play with is there another program i can use but the wintv program because i don't have the cd to install it. It's hard to say without seeing all of the blood work and diagnostics run by your veterinarian but diabetes is usually a pretty obvious diagnosis so if they believe it is diabetes, it probably is. Still, 1 1/2 is VERY young for this disease. Most dogs don't get diabetes until they are at least 6 or 7, even though they are type I diabetics. So I would be looking for an underlying cause, like a disease such as chronic pancreatitis that can affect the pancreases ability to secrete insulin or other disease such as acromegally (over production of growth hormone) that can result in insulin resistance in a dog. If your veterinarian hasn't already done one, I would recommend an abdominal ultrasound to start looking for more answers.

when I go to sleep, its at 2:30 but when I was asleep, I woke up for a few minutes like usual, then went back to bed, and then had a few long dreams, then I woke up expecting it would be bright out, but it was only 3:00. I know it doesn't seem odd, but I just had another question on here that explained it all. I usually go to bed at 2:30 / 3:00 every night, wake up a few times, then go back to bed, but when I wake up, I can usually tell if it's been a long or short sleep, so I went to bed last night around 2:30, woke up a few times, then had a long sleep, with some dreams, (with all the waking up it had to of been about an hour or more) then I woke up the last time, and looked at the clock, it was only 3:00, and I know it couldn't of been. If you could have read my last question on it, you would have got this better. I've had anxiety lately and the night before I had a hypoglycemic attack, im not sure if that can cause that, ive also been taking meds that mess with my breathing, im not sure if they mess with my sleep. Ive been with my boyfriend for a year next week and i'm making him a scrapbook. I have so many photos and ideas but I cannot for the life of me think of what to write to introduce it on the first page. Any ideas?

I am a 27 yr old female (im on my husbands account), and diabetes does run in my family, My great grandmother, and 3 of 5 uncles have diabetes. I haven't been officially diagnosed but for the last 6 years i have had the symptoms of hypoglycemic, hunger spells , fatigued, shaky and nauseated if i don't eat enough or fast enough when it hits. However, this past week I have had constant headaches, nothing serious , just enough to know its there. Extreme thirst, and frequent urination with that, always hungry and cant seem to get full yet ive lost several pounds eating more. Thru out the day i am fine but when i lay down for bed i feel like the room starts spinning. I have been more irritable but that is probably due to less sleep and waking up thru out the night to use the bathroom. Everything else is pretty consistent, foods i eat tho a little more of it, exercise, activities, regular day to day stressers and such. Do you think I'm hypoglycemic?

I had an eating disorder for 2 1/2 years, but I've been eating normally for around 6 months, although I do kind of slip back into disordered eating occasionally. I was anorexic and I was always dizzy, I would feel faint every time I stood up and I had weird heart rhythms. Now I still sometimes get dizzy and my heart jumps once in a while, I'm wondering if this has something to do with blood sugar, or if it's just because of my eating disorder and if it will go away by itself.

I have always been hypoglycemic why am I running high blood sugar now?

I have always been hypoglycemic.Now,at 45,I am running high blood sugar. One time I will test low 60's then 260. I can't see a pattern. My blood sugar fasting will be low or as high as 170. My ex-husband has refused to learn to deal with our children's disabilities, and got into a big blowup with our 11yo daughter last weekend. She has Asperger's and can be difficult at times, so he went on for hours about how he's no longer her parent and she blew it by pushing his buttons and he wants nothing more to do with the kids. He doesn't want to force our daughter into visits, especially since she's determined to torment him, so he wants visits with our autistic and epileptic son, who is too scared to push his buttons. In the last couple months things have gone downhill, with lots of canceled visits, a weekend he didn't feed them and told them to eat dirt, another weekend he wouldn't do anything, including feed them, until our daughter screamed at him as a way to teach her to be assertive, etc, etc. I can't prove anything and know there's no point in bringing it up, but will asking for just one kid reflect badly on him, or look like sensitivity to our daughter's needs?

All four pregnancy test including a blood test have come back negative. My doctor states its hormone stress, plus the worries about being pregnant. In general, people with hypoglycemia need to eat a low gi diet because eating sugar causes their pancreas to release too much insulin and this causes a hypo - in this case you shouldn't eat cake - it'll make you sick! I had a mother figure all through high school. We were close, i told her everything, she was my rock when i was hurt. Then in my senior year I got depressed and she disowned me. In a cry for help i told her i was suicidal and she cut all ties with me and said she didnt want the pressure. It tooks months of crying and begging God and therapy for me to even think about her without falling apart. Now i'm better and going off to college. Blood diseases + symptoms confusion?

Basically, my story it pretty confusing, but I'll try to be as succinct as I can. In January, I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia by my (then) family practitioner. I'd been having all the normal or typical symptoms (headaches, fainting, shakiness, pallor, coldness, and the like), and I took an 8-hour glucose test and my doctor confirmed with my mum and me that I was, in fact, hypoglycemic. He also noticed that my I had a low RBC count and that my red blood cells were small. About three months later, he referred us to a hematologist and the hematologist diagnosed me with Beta thalassemia minor. He also said that from the records of my blood tests and all that jazz that there was no indication I was hypoglycemic. We've then switched our family general practitioner, and she also has said that I am "not necessarily hypoglycemic". And by both our current doctor and the hematologist we've been told that thalassemias usually do not have any symptoms. I'm greatly confused about all of these circumstances, and why I'm having symptoms of a condition that apparently don't have with a condition that reportedly has no symptoms. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Whats the perfect diet for me?

There are sooooo many diets out there I don't know where to begin. I am 23, 5'5", 135 pounds and would like to lose about 15-20 pounds. My job allows me to do a lot of exercising there, as I lift heavy objects and do a lot of walking. What's my lag due to while playing video games?

I recently purchased a 32 inch LED Vizio TV, and hooked up my Xbox 360 via component cables. I put in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to try it out on the new TV but I'm experiencing an odd delay between my controls and the actions on-screen. The lag is somewhat minimal, being only about 1 third of a second off, but noticeable enough to the point where my gameplay is affected. What is this lag due to, and how can it be fixed? Headache after anything sugary?

Almost always, I've gotten headaches after eating most things that are sugary. Whether it be just two or three skittles, or a fruit smoothie I drank earlier, I sometimes get a massive headache. As of late, I'd say since this past summer, I've felt fatigued, often sleepy and drained of energy. I had blood taken, but for a test in which they did not have me eat for hours prior. Which, I do not understand because I would think they would need to measure how my levels rise after eating a certain food. Could I be hyper or hypoglycemic, diabetes?

How long does clomid delay your period for and why?

I am on my first month of clomid, I took it day 2-6. I usually have a regular 28 day cycle. I'm now on day 31, negative on pregancy test. Just wondering if this is common, and how long I can expect to be delayed for. (I am using clomid to increase egg production, I ovulate on my own each month).

How could people consume sugar in massive quantities from soft drinks and not get sick?

As I am hypoglycemic, I have a hard time understanding how it is possible for some people to consume a 20 oz. bottle of soda per day, and not get sick. If I were to consume the same amount of soda, the high sugar content would probably be enough to give me a hypoglycemic episode. Why is it that some people seem to be able to have as much sugar as they want, while some people have to be very careful about their carbohydrate intake?

How can I save the labels from wine bottles?

My roommate and I started a tradition awhile back to visit a winery on every vacation we went on and to save a bottle of wine from each of the wineries visited (well, that we liked anyway) as a keepsake of our travels. I was offered a job on March initially, but because of the large volume of new hirings, they had to delay my hiring. How would you know if your toddler has a speech delay?

My almost 3 year old had about 75 words at 24 months but didn't start combining them until around 28 months. Now, he makes 3-5 word sentences and has hundreds of words. Ok I was diagnosed as Hypoglycemic about 4 years ago. Refusal for doctors help?

I am a 13 year old girl and am greatly concerned by the fact that there may be a disorder of some type worsening my ability to analyze ,as well as comprehend very basic things from my education to my social life. Okay, so today's my birthday but only 2 people said Happy Birthday on facebook.?

It's almst 11:00PM and my birthday is today. I got over 400 friends on facebook and I know alot of them from school. I am friends with at least 10-15 people. Can I save the malnourished chi puppy I obtained today?

I received a chi puppy today, she maybe 2 mths old, she had been taken from the mother at 4-5 wks old. I had nothing to do with this I am trying to save this baby. Anyway she's extremely malnourished, which causes her to have tremors and difficulty walking. She gets weak easily. I think she may be hypoglycemic. I have been feeding her canned pedigree puppy food every couple hours and making sure she has plenty of water. I plan on worming her tomorrow. I'm looking for any advice on what I can do for her. Why are thyroid meds Meds causing debilitating headaches?

I'm actually asking for my Dad- He's been to sick to do research. He was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism 30 years ago( but is positive he had it for many years before that) so for the past 30 years he was on medication, I don't know which ones, but then he started getting such bad headaches that he can't move or think- I read it might be IIH, Idiopathic intracranial hypertension. I just found it in an artical about someone having this from thier meds, and my dad said he Had all the same symptoms. . On top of that he is hypoglycemic and if he can't eat his blood sugar drops and the headache doubles. He gets so sick he can't eat, can't move to eat. His Doc tried 3 other meds and all do the same thing. He's only OK if he stops taking them, but his Doc says that's not an option. Anyone have any ideas of what's going on and why for 30 years there was no problem?

What kind of lifestyle should I adopt?

I have lived a very stressful lifestyle my entire life, and have suffered from headaches everyday/ever other day. Then from November 2010 to May 2011 I had an incessant severe headache. I never slept because of the pain and got very depressed because I couldn't function, I always felt horrible. I went to so many doctors for months, and nothing. I finally was diagnosed with TMJ and was prescribed a night guard that I can wear for most of the day. I still have headaches when I don't sleep well and I rarely ever have a good night sleep because I can't fall asleep. Also, I'm also hypoglycemic, so basically its the opposite of diabetes, my body processes sugar too fast and my doctor told me to avoid headaches caused by hypoglycemia I have to eat every 3 hours. I also found out during this time that the reason I have terrible acne is because I'm allergic to animal products. I went vegan to improve my health as a test and my skin clear up after one day. When I slacked off and started to eat meat and dairy products I started breaking out all over again. I stopped eating animal products clear skin again. I have no idea to go about my life because, I have come to the conclusion that there is no cure for these headaches, and I will never be normal or well enough to have a career. In the middle of all this I wish I could loose weight I'm 5'6 133 pound but I wish to be thin around 117.

Dishwasher Malfunction?

I have a three year old Magic Chef dishwasher. About once a week (or every third time trying to use it), it goes nutty. Nothing happens when you hit the buttons - doesn't start. It gets power just fine because the "delay wash" lights will light up - in fact, they will light up and flash, but then that's it - they shut right back off. This will go on for a couple of days, and then out of the blue, when I push the "start" button again, it will run - with me having done nothing to the actual dishwasher. Any ideas? Nothing in the troubleshooting portion of the manual at all. In fact, that manual was worthless.

Questions about late period?

So my period usually comes around the 25th or 26th of each month. But last month I got a really bad virus and was really sick so my period was delayed to the 29th. My cycle is around 31-32 days. This week I has been very stressed emotional, although I've still broken out like I do every month a week before my period I just haven't gotten it yet, and its the 30th now. Shaky and dizzy what could this be?

In septmeber my 3 year old had his glucose numbers tested and they were 67. Test scale said anything under 67 was hypoglycemic. Earlier this month he was retested (after changing diet) and his levels are now 87. Must also say this was with fasting. Wondering if it was the diet that made the difference.....

blood sugar changes quickly. you can go from being hypoglycemic (shaky) to hypergylcemic quickly. high blood sugar can make you feel tired and dizzy often. get a glucose meter and check your blood sugar, on your arm, it doesn't hurt, 2 hours after eating and at other times to know what your blood sugar is doing.

If you're trying to get the picture of what he sounds out, try to stick your tongue out and sing it and that is how he sounds. Anyway, sometimes his voice is a bit on the nasally side. First day with full braces and already broke two brackets?

Okay, so I got braces this morning, and I already broke two brackets. One on the top just unglued for no reason, and there is one on the bottom that came off while I was flossing. I actually broke the wire between that bracket and the other bracket. What am I supposed to do? My next appointment isn't until August 9, but I feel like this may be an issue, and I don't want to delay the process. Should I call the office and tell them I broke two of them already? i am hypoglycemic. my blood sugar normally averages around 80 and i feel fine until it starts to drop. My Dr said i need to keep it about 100. I just got through eating an 8 piece chicken nuggets. Instead of seeing this in terms of giving up something, why not widen the parameter to include doing something extra? Instead of giving up deserts completely, why not swap to a fresh or canned fruit? Why not make it a point to eat five full servings of fruits and veggies per day, or swap out the refined flour products for wholegrain foods instead? Where you'd have cold cereal, have a bowl of oatmeal, with grated apple and cinnamon. Choose wheat bread over white bread, brown rice over white. That sort of thing is far healthier in the long run, and will help with the hypoglycemia as well. Sugar, or at least carbohydrates, are the fuel your body runs on, so giving it up isn't an answer. A smarter solution is to be picky about what carbs you do eat, and to choose complex carbohydrates over the simple ones. You don't have to give up sweets entirely, just chose wiser ones. And Lent isn't just about giving up things, it's making a sacrifice to improve yourself. It can mean spending more time helping somebody, volunteering to help out in a soup kitchen, etc- and giving up time instead of things. Regardless of what you choose to do for Lent, changing the diet is always a good move anyway. Just don't sign off sweets completely, that will just make you miserable and feeling deprived. That usually triggers you to overindulge when you break down and give in, and then kick yourself for doing it. Better to change to better choices, and think in terms of what you can take on rather than give up.

I only get my period every 4-6 months?

i started my period roughly 2 and a half years ago, and from then i've never had a regular period. for the first 4 periods i got every 6 months, and this was very unpredictable because i never knew when it was coming and this worried me. however, i had a period early January and then came again in mid-May- 4 months. Should i get a normal yorkie puppy or miniature/teacup puppy?

Hey guys I was wondering should I get a yorkshire miniature puppy or a normal puppy. I have studied it quite alot on the internet and noticed that they were unhealty. Is this with all miniatures or just some because I see aload of adds on the internet and see the pictures of them and they dont look unhealthy but that might just be the photography.
