Can a hypoglycemic become a diabetic?

I am a 27 yr old female (im on my husbands account), and diabetes does run in my family, My great grandmother, and 3 of 5 uncles have diabetes. I haven't been officially diagnosed but for the last 6 years i have had the symptoms of hypoglycemic, hunger spells , fatigued, shaky and nauseated if i don't eat enough or fast enough when it hits. However, this past week I have had constant headaches, nothing serious , just enough to know its there. Extreme thirst, and frequent urination with that, always hungry and cant seem to get full yet ive lost several pounds eating more. Thru out the day i am fine but when i lay down for bed i feel like the room starts spinning. I have been more irritable but that is probably due to less sleep and waking up thru out the night to use the bathroom. Everything else is pretty consistent, foods i eat tho a little more of it, exercise, activities, regular day to day stressers and such. Yes, i could go to a dr, but nothing seems severe enough to go that far, just curious if anyone has an idea about this. Thanks for taking the time for my long winded question. God Bless.
